DuongLab invente des mat\u00e9riaux avanc\u00e9s avec l&#8217;intention de produire de l&#8217;hydrog\u00e8ne mol\u00e9culaire, convertir le dioxyde de carbone en produits \u00e0 valeurs ajout\u00e9es, stocker l\u2019\u00e9nergie et s\u00e9parer les gaz. Pour ce faire, elle utilise les strat\u00e9gies de la chimie supramol\u00e9culaire et r\u00e9ticulaire pour construire des structures aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s ad\u00e9quates pour le domaine de l\u2019\u00e9nergie. Le pr\u00e9sent expos\u00e9 porte sur la conception, la synth\u00e8se et la caract\u00e9risation de photocatalyseurs et de mat\u00e9riaux poreux pour la production d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne et la capture du CO<sub>2<\/sub> et de sa s\u00e9paration dans des m\u00e9langes binaires et le stockage \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Invent with intention: the challenge of functional materials for sustainable energy technologies <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>The team of Professor Adam Duong (DuongLab), of the Hydrogen Research Institute at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivi\u00e8res, is specialized in the design of functional materials for the development of sustainable energy technologies. DuongLab invents advanced materials with the intention to produce molecular hydrogen, convert carbon dioxide into value-added products, store energy and separate gases. To do this, the team uses the strategies of supramolecular and reticular chemistry to build structures with adequate properties for the energy applications. Sa th\u00e8se de doctorat, termin\u00e9e en 2011, portait sur la conception et la synth\u00e8se de r\u00e9seaux supramol\u00e9culaires 2D et 3D par la strat\u00e9gie combinant la chimie de coordination et de la reconnaissance mol\u00e9culaire. Par la suite, il a poursuivi ses \u00e9tudes \u00e0 <em>University of California<\/em>, Los Angeles puis au laboratoire<em> Lawrence Berkeley National Lab<\/em> durant lesquelles il s\u2019est int\u00e9ress\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration de mat\u00e9riaux poreux pour le stockage d\u2019\u00e9nergie. En 2014, il a accept\u00e9 le poste de professeur en chimie \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Trois-Rivi\u00e8res. Ses champs de recherche touchent au d\u00e9veloppement de mat\u00e9riaux fonctionnels pour l\u2019\u00e9nergie durable. Plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, il s\u2019int\u00e9resse aux mat\u00e9riaux pour la production de H<sub>2<\/sub>, la r\u00e9duction du CO<sub>2<\/sub> par la photo et\/ou electrocatalyse ainsi qu\u2019au stockage d\u2019\u00e9nergie et la s\u00e9paration de gaz.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Professor Adam Duong graduated from the University of Montreal, where he completed a doctorate in chemistry. His doctoral dissertation, completed in 2011, involved the design and synthesis of supramolecular 2D and 3D networks using a strategy combining coordination chemistry and molecular recognition. Thereafter, he continued his research at the University of California, Los Angeles and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab where he concentrated on the synthesis of materials for energy storage. In 2014, he accepted the position of professor in chemistry at the <em>Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Trois-Rivi\u00e8res<\/em>. His research interests concern the development of materials functional for sustainable energy.
